Position

The Deckchair

Also known as reclinedpropped uplounger

The Deckchair has the receiving partner reclined and propped up on cushions while the other kneels and leans in — an ergonomic, sustainable position with easy eye contact.

The gist

Think of it as a supported, semi-upright missionary: the receiving partner leans back against a stack of pillows or a headboard while the other kneels close. The propping keeps faces near for connection and takes strain off both bodies, so it's easy to linger in.

Step by step

  1. The receiving partner reclines against pillows or a headboard, semi-upright.

  2. The other kneels close between their legs and leans in.

  3. Rest the receiving partner's legs over the other's thighs or around the waist.

  4. Adjust the pillow stack to fine-tune the angle.

Tips

  • The more you prop up the reclining partner, the easier the eye contact and kissing.
  • It's gentle on the knees and back, making it a good long-haul position.
