Data Retention Policy
How long we keep your data and what happens when you delete it.
1. While your account is active
We keep the content and data you create while your account is active so the service works for you. Disappearing or expiring content (for example, expiring chat messages) is removed on its schedule.
2. Deletion
You can delete individual items or your whole account. Account deletion removes your data on our deletion schedule and leaves only a scrubbed tombstone needed to keep references and audit integrity valid. You can reactivate within a short grace window before final purge.
3. Legal holds and exceptions
Some data is retained longer where the law requires it, or where a legal hold is in place (for example, preserved evidence in a safety case). Held data is exempt from purge until the hold is lifted. Safety and audit logs are kept as needed for security and compliance.
4. Export
You can request an export of your data from Settings; the export is delivered through a private, expiring link.
