Region Restrictions Policy
Why some features are unavailable or restricted depending on where you are.
1. Local rules shape availability
Laws on adult content, dating, and AI differ by region. To comply, some features — public profiles, public media, discovery/dating, location discovery, and AI media analysis — are turned off entirely in regions that prohibit them, and this is enforced on the server, not just hidden.
2. Stronger age assurance
In regions that require age assurance stronger than self-attestation for adult content, those features require the additional verification described in the Age Verification Policy before they are available.
3. How your region is determined
Your region is detected from your connection and can be set at signup. It is used only to apply the correct legal rules. Your private journal and vault work everywhere; regional rules affect only the public, dating, and AI surfaces.
